Private residence for a family on a 350sqm plot.

Our brief was to design two functionally independent floors yet connected at various levels. Our design was based on a split level with a clear distinction between the public and the private spaces. Punctures in the slab provided for visual and aural connectivity and allowed light to filter into various parts of the house. By sinking the external site in parts to the basement level we created usable living spaces in the basement.
